Export Voice Memos to Markdown
Each recording copied beside a note with its transcript.
What you get
- Each recording’s audio copied beside a Markdown note with its date, duration and size
- Its transcript under it in paragraphs of about 30 seconds, each with its time: the one Voice Memos made, or on macOS 27 one heard on your Mac in the language you choose
- Each note says which transcript it is, in which language, and how sure the model was
- An index of every recording, with a link to play it
Where the files go

alto-index/voice-memos/index.md
What you choose
- Tick the recordings to export, under their Voice Memos folders
- Transcribe In, in Options…: the language a transcript heard on your Mac is in
Left out
- A transcript heard on your Mac is kept only when the model is sure enough of it
- A recording you delete in Voice Memos leaves the export too
Free
Voice Memos is free, with its transcripts, with no limit.
